Terms of Use

These terms set out the rules for using BioTB, the website and services operated by BioTB Healthcare Network ("BioTB", "we", "us"). They explain what BioTB provides, what we expect of the people who use it, and the limits of our responsibility. Please read them alongside our privacy policy and medical disclaimer.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using BioTB, including browsing provider profiles, using BioTB Match™, or submitting a review, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use BioTB. If you use BioTB on behalf of a hospital, clinic, laboratory or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.

2. The BioTB service

BioTB is a healthcare information service. We publish verified profiles of doctors, hospitals, clinics, AYUSH centres and diagnostic labs; TrustScore™ rankings computed under our published TrustScore™ methodology; plain-language clinical condition guides; prescription-verified patient reviews; and BioTB Match™, a Clinical AI tool that suggests the kind of specialist to consider. Audited listings are currently available for Lucknow and Delhi NCR.

BioTB is an intermediary and an information publisher. We are not a healthcare provider, we do not employ the doctors listed, and we are not a party to any consultation, treatment, test or payment between you and a provider. Any appointment you make is an arrangement between you and that provider. We may add, change or withdraw features at any time, and we do not guarantee that BioTB will be available without interruption.

3. Not medical advice

Content on BioTB is for general information. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription or a substitute for a consultation with a qualified doctor who can examine you, and using BioTB does not create a doctor-patient relationship with BioTB or with anyone on our Medical Advisory Board. Do not delay seeking care, or stop a treatment, because of something you read on BioTB.

In an emergency, call 108 for an ambulance or 112 for the national emergency number, or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. BioTB is not an emergency service. Our medical disclaimer forms part of these terms.

4. Eligibility

You may browse BioTB at any age, but to submit a review, create an account or use features that ask for personal information you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. A parent or lawful guardian may submit a review about care given to a child or to a person in their care, provided they were present for or responsible for that care. You must give accurate information when asked for it and keep any login details secure.

5. Reviews and user content

You may submit reviews, ratings, corrections and other content ("user content"). Reviews must be about your own genuine experience, or that of a person you cared for, and must meet our patient review guidelines, including prescription verification where required. You remain the owner of your user content.

By submitting user content, you grant BioTB a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to host, store, reproduce, display, moderate, edit for length or clarity (without changing meaning), translate and publish it on BioTB and in materials that describe BioTB, and to use it in calculating TrustScore™ rankings. You may ask us to remove your review at any time, and we will remove it from public display as described in our review guidelines and privacy policy; copies may persist briefly in backups or where we are required to keep them by law.

You confirm that your user content is truthful, that you have the right to share it, and that it does not include another person's personal or health information without their consent. We may decline, moderate or remove user content that breaches these terms or our review guidelines, and we are not obliged to publish any submission.

6. Prohibited conduct

When using BioTB you must not:

  • Post fake, paid-for, incentivised or coordinated reviews, review a provider you did not consult, or review yourself, your employer, a relative's practice or a competitor.
  • Offer or accept any payment, discount or favour in exchange for a review or a rating.
  • Impersonate any person or organisation, including a doctor, hospital, patient or BioTB staff member, or misrepresent your affiliation with any of them.
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download profiles, reviews, rankings or other content by automated means, or build a competing database from BioTB content, without our prior written permission. Standard search engine indexing that respects our robots directives is permitted.
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, invasive of another person's privacy, hateful, misleading about a medical matter in a way that could cause harm, infringing of intellectual property, or otherwise unlawful under Indian law, including content listed in Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021.
  • Interfere with the security or operation of BioTB, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, or overload our systems.
  • Attempt to manipulate TrustScore™ rankings, search results or BioTB Match™ suggestions.
  • Use BioTB to send unsolicited marketing to patients or providers.

7. Provider listings and accuracy

We verify provider facts before publishing them and re-check them on a schedule, as described in our verification methodology. Even so, practical details such as OPD timings, consultation fees, availability of a doctor at a given hospital, and the services a laboratory offers can change without notice. Please confirm important details directly with the provider before you travel or make a decision. If you find an error, tell us under our corrections policy.

A listing, ranking or TrustScore™ is an information signal, not an endorsement, guarantee or certification of any provider, and it does not predict the outcome of any treatment. Rankings cannot be bought: BioTB operates a zero pay-to-rank policy, as set out in our advertising and independence policy. Providers who claim or update a profile must give accurate information and keep it current.

8. Intellectual property

The BioTB website, including its design, text, condition guides, profile compilations, rankings, software and graphics, is owned by or licensed to BioTB and is protected by Indian and international intellectual property law. BioTB, TrustScore™ and BioTB Match™ are our trade marks. You may not use them, or anything confusingly similar, without our written permission, except to refer accurately to BioTB.

You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and share links to BioTB pages. A provider may state its TrustScore™ or link to its BioTB profile, provided the statement is accurate and current and does not suggest that BioTB endorses the provider. Any other copying, republication or commercial use requires our prior written permission.

9. Third-party links and services

BioTB may link to provider websites, booking systems, maps, published research and other third-party resources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or services. Your use of a third-party site or service is governed by its own terms. A link is not an endorsement.

10. AI features

BioTB Match™ and other Clinical AI features use automated models, working within clinical rules governed by our Medical Advisory Board, to suggest the type of specialist or care setting that may suit what you describe. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, depends on the information you enter, and cannot examine you. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend medicines or doses, or decide whether a situation is an emergency. Treat any suggestion as a starting point to discuss with a doctor. Do not enter information you do not want processed, and do not rely on AI features in an emergency.

11. Limitation of liability

BioTB is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not give warranties that content is complete, current or error-free, or that BioTB will be uninterrupted or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BioTB is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss arising from: medical care, advice, treatment or outcomes provided by any provider listed on BioTB; your reliance on content, rankings or AI suggestions without consulting a qualified doctor; content posted by users or third parties; or events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify BioTB against claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms, user content you submit, or your misuse of BioTB, including fake reviews, impersonation or unlawful content.

13. Suspension and termination

We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or end your access to BioTB if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law or a lawful order, or to protect patients, providers or BioTB. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why and give you a way to respond, including through our grievance process. You may stop using BioTB at any time. Sections on user content licences, intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law continue to apply after termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act 2000 and the rules made under it. We encourage you to raise any concern through our grievance process first, as most issues can be resolved there. Subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law to bring a claim where you live, the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or your use of BioTB.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as BioTB develops or the law changes. The date of the last review appears at the top of this page. For material changes, we will give reasonable notice on BioTB before they take effect. If you continue to use BioTB after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

16. Grievances and contact

If you have a complaint about content on BioTB, including content you believe breaches these terms or Indian law, or about how your personal data is handled, please follow our grievance redressal process, which explains how to reach the Grievance Officer and the timelines we commit to under the IT Rules 2021.
