BioTB
Prescription-verified reviews

Review Terms

These terms apply whenever you submit a review to BioTB. They sit alongside our Terms of Use, patient review policy and Privacy Policy. In short: your prescription is used only to verify your visit, it is checked by automated systems and no person at BioTB views it, it is never published, and BioTB decides what is published on BioTB.

1. About these terms

BioTB is operated by BioTB Healthcare Network ("BioTB", "we", "us"). By ticking the consent boxes on the review form and submitting a review, you agree to these Review Terms. If you do not agree, do not submit a review. Where these Review Terms and the Terms of Use differ on a matter about reviews, these Review Terms apply.

2. Who can submit a review

  • You must be at least 18 years old and signed in to a BioTB account that belongs to you.
  • You may review a doctor or facility you consulted yourself, or one that treated a family member whose visit you attended and whose prescription you are authorised to share.
  • You may submit one review for each doctor or facility, for a visit in the last 12 months.
  • Doctors, hospital staff, their relatives, competitors, and anyone acting for them may not review that provider or its competitors.

4. How your prescription is handled

  • Never public. Your prescription is never published, never shown with your review and never sent to the doctor, hospital or anyone else.
  • No human review. Verification is automated. Our systems are designed so that no person at BioTB views your prescription: it is encrypted before it is stored, and our staff tools cannot open it.
  • Encrypted. The file is encrypted with AES-256 before storage, in a private store that is separate from public review content.
  • Only what is needed. Verification reads only the details listed in section 3. Please cover anything else you do not want processed, such as medicine names, your address or identity numbers, while keeping the doctor or clinic name and the date visible.
  • Kept only as long as needed. We keep the prescription only while it is needed to verify your review and to deal with any dispute about it, and delete it when you ask us to or when the review is erased.

5. What you promise

By submitting a review, you confirm that:

  • the review describes a real visit by you, or by a family member whose visit you attended;
  • the prescription is genuine, unaltered, belongs to you or you are authorised to share it, and comes from that visit;
  • what you write is true and is your honest opinion;
  • you are not connected to the provider or its competitors, and have not been paid, offered or promised anything for the review;
  • the review follows the patient review policy and does not include another person's personal or health information without their consent.

Submitting a false, altered or borrowed prescription, or a fake review, may also be an offence under Indian law.

6. BioTB's publishing decisions

BioTB is the publisher of BioTB and has the final say on what appears on it. To keep reviews trustworthy, BioTB may, at its discretion and without having to give advance notice:

  • publish a review only after verification succeeds, and decline to publish a review that cannot be verified;
  • decline, delay, hide or remove a review that breaks these terms or the review policy, or that we reasonably believe is not genuine;
  • remove personal data, abusive language or unlawful content from a review without changing its meaning or rating;
  • decide how reviews are ordered and displayed, and how they count towards a provider's rating and TrustScore™;
  • change, pause or stop the review feature.

BioTB is not obliged to publish any review. Verification and publication decisions are final, subject to the grievance process below and to your rights under law. BioTB never accepts payment to publish, hide, reorder or remove a review, and a provider's commercial relationship with BioTB plays no part in these decisions (see our editorial independence policy).

7. Licence to your review

You keep ownership of your review text. You grant BioTB a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for length or format, translate, display, distribute and publish the review, your rating and your display name (first name and last initial) on BioTB and in materials about BioTB, and to use them in calculating ratings and TrustScore™. This licence does not cover your prescription, which is used only as set out in sections 3 and 4. If you ask us to remove your review, we stop displaying it, as described in section 9.

8. No payment, no incentives

Reviews on BioTB are free to submit and are never paid for. BioTB does not offer, and you must not accept from anyone, money, discounts, gifts or other benefits for writing, changing or removing a review.

9. Removing your review and withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your consent, or ask us to remove your review and delete your prescription, at any time by writing to privacy@biotb.com from the email address of your BioTB account. Withdrawing consent before verification is complete means the review cannot be verified or published. When we act on your request, the review is taken down and the stored prescription is permanently deleted, except for any limited record the law requires us to keep. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it.

10. Disclaimers

Reviews are the personal opinions of patients, not the views of BioTB, and are not medical advice. A "Prescription Verified" status means the automated check matched the prescription to the provider and the visit date; it does not confirm every statement in a review. Automated verification can make mistakes, and the review feature is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BioTB is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from the review feature, including a decision to publish, decline or remove a review, a verification result, or the content of reviews written by others. Because submitting a review is free, BioTB's total liability to you in connection with your reviews is limited, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to the amount you paid BioTB in connection with them, which is nil. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify BioTB against claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, that arise because your review or prescription breaks these terms or the law, including a false or defamatory review, a forged or borrowed prescription, or a review written for payment or on behalf of a provider or competitor.

13. Suspension

If we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, we may remove your reviews, stop you from submitting reviews and suspend your account. Where appropriate and lawful, we tell you why and how to respond through the grievance process.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Reviews submitted after a change are covered by the new terms. If a change affects how your prescription is processed, we will ask for your consent again before processing it in the new way.

15. Governing law and grievances

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please raise any concern about a review, a verification result or your data through our grievance redressal process first; it sets out who handles complaints and the response timelines. Subject to any right you have under consumer protection law to bring a claim where you live, the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes about these terms.
